Christian university fires transgender professor

A private, Christian university is firing a transgender professor who began appearing as a woman on campus in 2005. John Nemecek, 55, who goes by Julie Marie Nemecek and often wears a wig and dress, is fighting the dismissal by Spring Arbor University, which takes effect June 1.
It took them 2 years?!?

Christian university fires me

Yes it took two years because of the quality of my work and my faithful Christian walk.

If this is John, openly

If this is John, openly unrepentant sin is not what most Christians would consider "faithful." I'm not saying you don't have saving faith in Christ, but it sounds like you're really struggling with a particular facet of sin. Nothing wrong with that--that's part of being a sinner--but it's when you stop struggling and accept it as part of your identity that it's a serious problem. -- Pastor DaleWebmaster, LCMSPastor.com

No sin

There is no sin in accepting and living how God has made you. I praise Him for I am fearfully and wonderfully made (PS 139). My living out my true self has made worship more precious, God's presence more manifest, and the fruits of the Spirit more sought after and transparent in my life. Maybe the world needs more "sinners" like this.

Being trans-gendered is most certainly NOT a sin. It is a medical condition (gender identity disorder) and it has nothing to do with morality. I think people get so upset because it breaks their black and white boxes of male and female and that is hard for them so swallow. That which we do not understand we discriminate against and tend to believe is weird and wrong. It appalls me that the Christian community is so often so quick to judge something they may not understand at the level they should before passing judgment (is there is such a thing). I would hope in future generations, "Christians" would learn to act with more compassion and understanding and be less quick to judge and tear apart peoples lives and church communities.
