Dumb religion content on TV: Nightline stages a 'debate' about Satan

Thursday night, Nightline spent the whole show on a staged "debate" about the existence of Satan. It says something about how badly this was set up that New Ager Deepak Chopra represented rationalism. With him on the "anti-Satan" side was Bishop Carleton Pearson, familiar to folks in this part of the country as a former evangelical-turned-universalist on the topic of salvation. On the "Satan Exists" side was hip conservative pastor Mark Driscoll and Annie Lobert, an ex-prostitute who now heads "Hookers for Jesus."
