Scientologists Descend on Bridge Site

The Church of Scientology and its globetrotting team of volunteer ministers have been active over the last several years, arousing the ire of critics who read unholy motives into the group's charitable works.
I think I have to side with the Scientologists here, as long as they're helping and not getting in the way.

Volunteer Ministers do good works worldwide

I volunteered at the Northridge Earthquake in Los Angeles, in Ground Zero in NYC in Sept '01, in Indonesia after the tsunami and in Mississippi and Louisiana after Katrina. I can tell you from first-hand knowledge that we do not use such disasters to proselytize. We do not discuss religion, we just offer practical help. We distributed food and medical supplies, we brought water, we helped UNICEF and the Red Cross, we provided comfort and support to those affected. We helped families find loved ones using our own cellphones. In Indonesia, we worked hand-in-hand with Muslim Clerics. In Lousiana, we brought in Baptist Ministers so that displaced persons could observe Mass. The charges against our volunteers are mean-spirited and baseless. The particular person speaking against our volunteers is Rick Ross, not an expert in any capacity but a bigot who's been mudslinging our Church for over a decade. Sincerely, Greg Scientologist and proud of it http://www.liveandgrow.org
